dubmale Posted March 24 Posted March 24 have question im able to retrieve the files off a drive that was in a hexos server but when i try to import the pool it says it may delete the data but im able to get the data off but it doesnt have the porper naming that was when it was a drive in hex os is there a way to put the data back on the drive and restore it or is there a way to find the way the system names files and download it off the drive and retrieve it that way
Mobius Posted March 24 Posted March 24 If i am understanding correctly you have a single drive that was part of a pool and you would like to retrieve the files using a different operating system?
dubmale Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 yes and know i had multiple drives ccause they were raid and i somehow lost the pool but the pool data was still on the drive but when i try to import the pool via truenas or try to readd via hex is says that it will delete the data atm im currently copying the data off the drive but its all being called like file_0_3ds not the actual name i know that nameing is usually stored on the drive but i was wondering if it was possible to retrieve it all off the drive they redo it and add the info that been copied off it with the naming system to get it back to what it was
Mobius Posted March 25 Posted March 25 how many drives did your pool consist of and how many functioning drives from that pool do you still have?
dubmale Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 it consist of 4 drives they are all working as in im able to access all the drives thats what im getting the data off
Mobius Posted March 27 Posted March 27 can you share a screenshot of the warning you get? when i test importing pools in the truenas Ui I see no warning.
dubmale Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 thats what its showing when i try to import it doesnt show but when i try to do it manually create it its saying there a pool allready
Mobius Posted March 31 Posted March 31 from you screenshot it looks like you only have 3 of the 4 harddrives that the pool consists of installed into the system. 1
