Glen Malan Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 I'm posting here to see if anyone can help me debug this issue. My HexOS server keeps going down at random times in the night and I cannot find any rhyme or reason to why it dies. The PC it's running off of is still powered on but the networking disappears and everything goes offline. I've replaced the power supply, I've tried reading logs and didn't find anything. I've turned on and off XMP. This is driving me crazy
PsychoWards Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 Can you please post the HW specs of your server?
Glen Malan Posted June 12, 2025 Author Posted June 12, 2025 Yeah specs are Ryzen 5 1600 8GBs of DDR4 RAM Nvidia GT760 (just used for display out) 3x3TB WD Red Hard Drives (Raid 5) 1x500GB WD Black NVME SSD Gigabyte B450M DS3H Motherboard
PsychoWards Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 You need to deactivate the C-States in the BIOS for Ryzen 1000-3000 CPUs, because this is causing the crashes. 3
Glen Malan Posted June 13, 2025 Author Posted June 13, 2025 Just tried that and will see if that fixes my issues. Thanks!
Glen Malan Posted June 18, 2025 Author Posted June 18, 2025 Server has been up for ~5 days now with no issues. Thanks! 2
PsychoWards Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 That's great to hear and thank you for the feedback. 🙂
DMC Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I hope this helps me as well... If not, at least now I have a NanoKVM PCIe in my server so i can check, enter bios and restart the server without crawling to it anymore. 😄
Lschen518 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I’m having what seems to be a similar issue, but on an intel 11th gen i7 processor. Anyone have any ideas?
