Plex playback keeps lagging

Server:

i5-12400/A310/HexOS/64GB ram 3200mhz/m.2 boot/HDD main storage/wired gigabit up-down

Player:

Win 10 pc/firefox using internal IP/wired gigabit up-down

I have plex pass

I upgraded my server yesterday and while trying to watch a movie it keeps lagging (Both end wired on same network)

anyone know why? My player is is using a 1440p monitor, trying to play plex at 4k and 1080p high both lags randomly. Will play fine a few minutes then skip/freeze for a sec or two

Have you had a look at your processor usage? I’ve had similar issues on other systems in the past which was caused by the processor usage spiking and not being able to decode quick enough
