Misterio Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I'm curious about how many Plex users can comfortably connect to my Plex server, both locally and remotely, with an upload connection speed of only 46 Mbps. The videos are 1080p and are set to direct play with no transcoding. The "Limit remote stream bitrate" is set to 10 Mbps (1080p). Can this be reduced to 8 Mbps (1080p) without losing too much quality? My NAS is an old QNAP TS- 453 Pro - Intel Celeron Quad Core 16gig Ram. Internet connection speed 924/46 Mbps Thanks for any input. Quote

That said I imagine it would be fine. its hard to give you a max number of connections since i dunno how many streams your device can transcode at the same time. It is very possible that will be your bottleneck instead of your upload speed. Quote
