FAZZA Posted Saturday at 09:35 PM Posted Saturday at 09:35 PM Love to have pi-hole as an app. I have a skill (bit like Linus) that just updating Ubuntu OS (which I run pi-hole on because it’s supported) randomly breaks the OS and often requires a full reinstall to recover. tad annoying so having this as a simple app install would save me time and fear of this random faults. /FAZ 10 Quote
guslanzetta Posted Sunday at 04:41 AM Posted Sunday at 04:41 AM I too would like this. Right now I have an LXC container in proxmox running pihole and that's my dns server. Hopefully Hexos becomes something I can migrate all those small tasks to. 1 Quote
Calscats Posted Sunday at 04:49 AM Posted Sunday at 04:49 AM Something like this is something that I would like to eventually be able to do. I was hoping that with the support of docker containers I had dreamed that eventually my media server would take over tasks exactly like this once HexOS came to fruition. Quote
Coates Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago +1 to this! I posted somewhere else on here about how I spent so many hours going through tutorials setting up OMV and Pi-Hole on my old NAS. Once I finally had it built and working, I lost the mojo to do anything with it. Having pi-hole as an app that can be run as easily as the plex integration looks to be would be game changing and gives the NAS that little bit more utility. Quote
oli13 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Would like to have pi hole with unbound to set up the recursive DNS as well Quote

I download DietPi for x86 and put it on a Dell micro pc. After the install you can pick tons of apps to run and they update easy. I have been doing that now for about 3 years or more and. have never had an issue. You can also download it for raspberry pi. Also I actually have to small micro pc's that i have as nas1 and nas 2 in my house doing it this way. Edited 1 hour ago by jpadgett Quote
