Fan Speed / Control - Laptop

Hello! 
I don’t actually have an invite yet but in preparation I would like to know how I could change the fan control setting to be quiet. 
I have an old ish laptop im going to setup as a nas. Its in my living room so id rather not hear it lol.

It has 2 Nvme slots and a 2.5 inch bay inside. I got it for about $220. Just ordered a couple 2tb Nvme drives as well.

Ive never messed with true nas before so any pointers would be much appreciated!

Maybe there will be an app for that, fan control isn't exactly user friendly and easy as HexOS should be.

Will we have console access through the HexOS portal? Also what Linux distro is this running on top of? FreeBSD like TrueNas?

To be honest: I don't really know the answers to your questions yet. May take ist that fan control is usable in most distros.

I think hexos is based on Truenas scale, so it is must be like Linux distro

Hi there! As we continue to develop HexOS we want to make everything as easy and simple as it can be. But this is a tricky thing to pull off.
 

Complexity cannot simply be removed, it has to be moved. And our solution might seem simple from the outside, but it’s far from it on the inside. 
 

Things like fan control, UPS management and more is on our radar, but we can’t make any promises just yet. There might be existing apps that do a good job though, so maybe we will add some of those to recommend instead.
