2 sdev Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Native/One click support would be great... Until then here is a solid tutorial on how to set up Tailscale on TrueNAS. As @Jor mentioned it seems to work flawlessly with the TrueNasUI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0Py62k63_c 1 Quote
1 apriendeau Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Another here for tailscale. This would be much nicer than having to run a reverse proxy and exposing everything. Quote
1 Jor Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 It seems to work flawlessly if you install it in the truenas UI so I’m sure it would be an easy addition. 2 1 Quote
0 chickenblade Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Tailscale support would be nice. My ISP wants $10 more a month for a static IP. I already pay them $90. Tailscale lets me circumvent their surcharge. Quote
0 RooRay Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 +1 to this, Tailscale support would be amazing (maybe as an alternative to port forwarding?) 1 Quote

0 Freestyler589 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Tailscale support would be wonderful, I'd love to see it as a feature. Quote
0 speedking456 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 +1 for native Tailscale support Tailscale could also be implemented for the upcoming "buddy backup" feature as I've heard it referred to. Considering the important parts of Tailscale are open source it could even be implemented without either user needing to have a Tailnet and HexOS operates as the coordination server. Forking off of Headscale could be an option too, just thinking out loud. 2 Quote
0 Rymo Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Tailscale support would be fantastic. +1 Quote
0 Makani Kai Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Another vote for Tailscale support. I love Tailscale and would really like to see this. I’d also like to see support for custom login servers, like if running Headscale. Quote
0 Canadianhummus Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I think openvpn is the way to go... no? Quote

They aren't really equivalent, Wireguard vs. OpenVPN would be an apples to apples conversation. Anyway, +1 for Tailscale, it's amazing and having it easily work with HexOS is a must. 1 Quote

Anyway, +1 for Tailscale, it's amazing and having it easily work with HexOS is a must. Tailscale is based on wiregaurd... tailscale has a pretty in depth comparison of the 2 on their website, so I think it's safe to say their comparable and there are things that openvpn can do that tailscale can't. Here is the comparison if you are interested. Quote
0 Dammers89 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Another +1 for tailscale please. I find their platform very use friendly and intuitive for a relative noob so would think they would be complimentary! Quote
0 azcom Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 That's a +1 from me too. I use Tailscale on all of my servers & devices. So much easier and safer than port forwarding or messing about with a traditional VPN etc. Quote
0 remyj Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Plus one more vote for Tailscale one click app. Quote
0 UncleMikey Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Wild the level of support for tail scale but COUNT ME IN! Quote
0 arvinpw Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Tailscale works super great in unRAID, it just works simply login your account and voila, all shared folder on that server appears I even can access by typing \\servername Quote
0 LuciferMstar Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Thats another +1 on my side. I already use CloudFlare in another setup and I would like to explore the Tailscale way. Quote
