Ubiquiti USW-Flex-2.5G 5-Port Switch

Not sure if this is the place to ask ,

 Been looking at this switch .. but not sure if i  use it as a stand alone  switch or do i need any other of the Ubiquiti hardware to run the switch?

From what I can tell, if you have existing PoE or USB-C powered sources then you wouldn't need to use the included EU power cable.

I have a Sodola network  switch , but want to replace it with the Flex mini 2.5gb  but i don't have any other Ubiquiti equipment .

is it possible to use the flex mini just by it's self ?

I believe it's possible, but I'm not sure how challenging it would be to configure it without having a cloud key or unifi gateway (router)

I'm sure as just a dummy switch it would work on it's own, all the added functionality of being a smart switch would be out the window without either hosting the Ubiquiti software on your computer (I did this with a few of their access points before finally getting a unifi gateway) or buying one of their other methods of having the unifi software running. So yes and no...
