Starshock2002 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 How similar do the drives need to be, could I use 2 sata ssds and 1 m.2 ssd (all the same capacity) in a single pool for instance? Alternatively do all the pools require at least 2 drives? Or could I make a pool from the sata drives and have the m.2 drive as a separate thing? Hadn't actually planned for this, but went to open my mini pc up and found there was a whole extra m.2 slot under the board that I didn't know about 😛 so just wondering if I can actually use it for anything
Dylan Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Hi @Starshock2002 I am not sure if using different drive types is explicitly supported, though it may be in the future. My recommendation would be to stick to the hardware and storage guide at least until this configuration becomes supported or we move from beta to 1.0. If you're willing to test and post results that might also be helpful to the dev team. Good luck!
Starshock2002 Posted December 11, 2024 Author Posted December 11, 2024 Can now confirm that it doesn't care that some ssds are m.2 name and some are sata, it just detected all 3 and automatically put them into a pool together 🙂 1
