Buying for others

What is the best way to get licenses for friends or family? At this point I am not sure if they will be managing their servers or if I will do it for them. I expect to have data replicated between the servers for redundancy,

Or like the possibility to transfer a bought license ONE time (per license). That's another way we could gift friends and family.

Maybe some sort of Gift-Code type Setup, where you could buy Codes to give to someone else? This way, if there is a redeem functionality on checkout, you could also do some raffles in the Forums and giveaway some Licenses in the Future!

Can't edit here.  I ment that a bought license can only be transferred once as long as it is valid.

ie: I bought two lifetime licenses and want to gift one to a family member. After the transfer from my account to the family members the license is useable for the family member but can't be transferred again to another account.

In the EU you are always allowed to resell a license, regardless of what the EULA states.
In this early stage I guess they are focused on getting the OS of the ground and making people happy and then turning back for regulation compliance work at a later stage. 🙂

This is still rather vague. The license is non-transferable but what about the key?

I found this on their FAQ. Basically you can't. Hopefully they change to allow this. Or facilitate a way to use Buddy Backup on two servers under your own account but be able to keep data separate so a buddy can keep one at their location and not have access to your data backed up on the second machine and vice versa.
