Verifiying Privacy

Question

Posted

Hello, I like the idea of HexOS a lot and love the simplicity.

I wanted to clarify offline support. I understand a local interface is coming. I saw in another post response, a connection will always be required for activation. After activation occurs, will there be any problems if it is never connected to the internet? Would there be an option to disable all the cloud features? I don't want it to be possible to login or access any of my data remotely.

I know you won't be open sourcing HexOS.. Assuming that is off the table, would you consider making HexOS source available? If you are not familiar, source available just means the source code is available to view. It does not have to follow the open source pillars such as free redistrabution, allowing derived works/forking, etc. You all seem great, but I make it a point to not trust anyone with my data.

Thanks!

AFAIK a connection to the internet is only necessary when activating the OS. The Caveat is that this will probably only be possible when the local UI is available. Which should be in the stable version.

That's my take with the available information right now..
