Terrence Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 One of my primary uses for remote storage is as a synchronization server for my other devices. Syncthing allows this with simplicity, reliability, and expanse of features and configuration (plus clients for all major devices). It also has the possibility to support "buddy backup" using untrusted devices. This could decrease the work required to implement buddy backup from scratch in my opinion. In my mind, along with things like Immich, Syncthing is a must-have app and it's relatively simple to setup and use (works out of the box). I think it follows the simplicity of use direction HexOS is developing in. 2
chiseledface Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I installed syncthing - and it shows that it's synced - however I have no idea how to access the files, or where they went. Any tips?
Terrence Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 It should have a web interface that shows synced folders with paths (not sure what port it sits at by default). Not sure how much I can help past that. I usually use Syncthing on Arch Linux, Android, Windows, and such.
Terrence Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 I also have to figure out how to turn on email notifications for this forum...

I believe you need to select Follow topic underneath your post and you will get notifications. Also just found that you can Follow a whole Topic and choose the type of notifications you get. Any tips? They went into folder which only syncthing app can use. I was confused too, but i think no other apps can use that folder that syncthing uses...
