xXEMO_POTATOXx Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I already have a truenas scale server and it would be nice to be able to install a 3rd party update for truenas to update it to hexos. This would be cool in the sense that I would love to use hexos but I don't have more hardware to backup my system. If there was a download (once you have paid for hexos) maybe in the hexos online dashboard that will provide the update, I think it would be very cool in the sense we don't have to migrate our truenas server over manually by making a spare server copying the data over to it and then upgrading our storage server to hexos so we don't loose any data. Also the benefit of this I believe would save a lot of time. If this post isn't allowed for some reason please delete. But this is my idea and my contribution to the community. Quote
qlkgwgjxoi Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Hey, one of the creators of HexOS talked in an Q&A about migration from TrueNAS. Might answer your question. TLDR: probably not going to happen. (https://youtu.be/cTPVd4YCDZ8&t=1566) Edit: corrected timestamp Edited December 8, 2024 by qlkgwgjxoi Quote
