I'm sure it's possible with some serious hackery and wizardry, but after looking at the unit and the manual I don't think it would be an easy process. I also found a post on IX systems TrueNAS forum where a user was asking about installing TrueNAS on a similar Netgear unit, and the consensus was that it was not a good/easy idea, due to the unit being designed for their proprietary OS all the way down to the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System.
