Technodabbler Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Hi, Lets take a scenario where I manage three servers : mine, my brother's and my dad's. All servers are stored in different households. Lets give them these names: Charizard : my server Bulbasaur : my brother's server Squirtle : my dad's server As the family administrator, I need to manage all three servers. However, my brother should only have admin rights to Bulbasaur, and my dad should be able to admin Squirtle. I'm comfortable with admin remote (deck) access to all three servers, but the local admin should have different credentials. Although my scenario might look a little complicated, I think this will be common in many scenario when friends are helping other friends manage their system. Cheers, 2 Quote
Dylan Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Wouldn't an appropriately credentialed account using a reverse ssh tunnel accomplish this? Or maybe I'm not understanding the problem correctly. Quote

Considering UI cloud-based does not function locally so reverse ssh tunnel out and a ssh tunnel is not for the target audience unless completely automated. They've said elsewhere that they're considering local UI support but it may be very limited. I hope hey maximize local functionality outside of the initial set setup. Quote

My reply neglected to consider the post title referring to the command deck. I think I got distracted by OP talking about administration as opposed to the users he is supporting. Good catch and thanks for calling that out! Quote
