Midnight2ss Posted Saturday at 03:42 AM Posted Saturday at 03:42 AM Had a bit of an issue with the itinial install but i think that was due to a ssd failure and not the OS. Switched to a different drive and installed it seamlessly. Super impressed so far. 1 Quote

silvioslim Posted Saturday at 08:49 AM Posted Saturday at 08:49 AM How lucky you are dude? I’m still waiting but PLEASE share other media. can you try to use a samba share and try to get it in with a windows pc, create file and delete it? Quote
Smir Posted Saturday at 09:14 AM Posted Saturday at 09:14 AM Does it have its own installation media? Quote
Mawson Posted Saturday at 09:58 AM Posted Saturday at 09:58 AM Its an ISO you flash to a USB just like most other things. ...or if you're a turbo nerd like me and have old supermicro boards with IPMI you can mount the iso virtually from the KVM software LOL Quote
Clixxi Posted Saturday at 12:53 PM Posted Saturday at 12:53 PM Thanks for your screenshots. Please post more so that guys like me which are still waiting for access get more information on HexOS. Quote

What would you like to know/ see shares work flawlessly between iOS windows and Linux, don’t have a Mac to test but I imagine it would be as easy as iOS Quote

Midnight2ss Posted Saturday at 03:20 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:20 PM There’s a decent amount of apps that just show up however currently most except for plex and immich currently just take you to the truenas ui to configure however going to the ui I was able to install 1 or 2 apps without really any issues just leaving most default but something I’d definitely wants to mess around with eventually Quote

The moment I get in the next wave I’ll be setting up the full ARR suite, so be curious to see how seamless that goes. Quote
Midnight2ss Posted Saturday at 03:22 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:22 PM Here’s a list of the apps currently however like I said it will need the truenas ui to install everything but the “recommended” ones HexOS.pdf Quote

It is probably and I feel they just need to find a way to port over the required config settings once they do that I imagine it would be fairly easy for them to add steps during install of other apps that will require them that way you can stay in the HexOS ui Quote
Theo Posted Saturday at 03:36 PM Posted Saturday at 03:36 PM Install question, did the Hex UI give options for setting up cache drives? Or is that something we may need to restrict TNS for? Quote
Midnight2ss Posted Saturday at 03:39 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:39 PM (edited) It didn’t but I only had 3 drives as the drive I was going to use for cache had died 😂 I believe I have another drive around so I may try again later Edited Saturday at 03:40 PM by Midnight2ss Quote
Theo Posted Saturday at 03:48 PM Posted Saturday at 03:48 PM Damn, thats a shame, fingers crossed you get a new one soon then. And yeah, just curious how they've done it, as i found it very confusion when setting up my 500gb m.2 as a cache drive before in TNS. Quote

After testing i forgot that in this current beta there is NO custom/manual pool configuration so if the automatic wizard doesn't show it currently you cannot do it Quote

Yeah was curious if that was / will show up in the set up process. Or will come later down the line as part of there snapshot features. Would assume they’re mutually exclusive but who knows. Quote
