Hi all, I currently run TrueNAS Scale on my NAS (TNS01) but I'm considering migrating to HexOS to simplify configuration and management. I'm also planning to set up a second NAS (TNS02) as a backup for my main NAS. I find TrueNAS configuration convoluted and it seems to break with the smallest changes, leading to avoid making configuration changes. My questions are: Can I (manually) replicate HexOS permissions to the backup TrueNAS system? Does HexOS modify the TrueNAS config directly or create its own config file? Can I export the TrueNAS config from HexOS and import it into a standard TrueNAS system without issues?

I wanted to add a single SSD pool to my system but HexOS wont let you create a pool without at least two drives so I had to do that manually in truenas. Hopefully there are plans to allow having a single drive pool? After adding my single SSD pool in truenas the HexOS UI seems to be broken. I will attach a picture of what I am seeing. It now shows my server health is not running normally and when I click on it to see what the problem is it just tries to load endlessly and never shows me. Also my original storage pool now no longer shows up under the storage list on the main page and under the storage page it says there are no storage pools present on the system. My system is running completely normal and truenas doesn't show any issues with anything. Just wanted to report these issues incase there may be a solution or if it would help the devs out in any way. Thanks and cant wait for 1.0!

Looking at the HexOS interface, I don't see a good way to determine if the software is up to date. It would be nice to see what version is currently running, what is the latest version, opt-in for automatic updates, and opt-in for scheduled updates. When I go into the TrueNas UI, I can see updates are available. However, it is unclear if it effects HexOS at all. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I would like to some assurance that if I updated TrueNas, then it will be compatible with HexOS that is running.

Forgive me if this is too meta for this forum section. I had a few feature requests I wanted to write up. However, while doing my due diligence before posting, I found both were suggested but not yet supported in TrueNAS. I assume TrueNAS prioritizes more enterprise-impactful features because those are their paying clients. But now that there is a consumer revenue stream through HexOS, is there a path for consumer-friendly features to have a higher weight of priority? The requests I wanted to write up: WebUI File Manager https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/browse/NAS-109580 GPU info Widget https://github.com/truenas/webui/discussions/9865

I recently set up a VM hosting the TrueNAS OS. I further tested to see that it was configured properly by connecting to the instance via my browser. From here I was able to login and access the TrueNAS dashboard. However, even though I can access my TrueNAS instance anywhere in my house the setup page for HEXOS can't seem to find the server. https://deck.hexos.com/add-new-server/detecting Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,

Hi, I finally received an invitation and installed the OS. Everything went smoothly and easily. However, I got a notification about a system update, and I believe it's in the TrueNAS UI. I need to access it, but my password from the installation isn’t working. Could you please confirm the username I should use to access it? Is it "admin" with a capital 'A'? I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!
