Something I think would be really helpful is stats on how many users are using a given app and maybe sort the list of apps by most popular. Users could look at most popular apps and try out things they otherwise wouldn't know about. Developers could look at the most popular apps and use that to decide which apps to make a one-click install for next.

Looking at the HexOS interface, I don't see a good way to determine if the software is up to date. It would be nice to see what version is currently running, what is the latest version, opt-in for automatic updates, and opt-in for scheduled updates. When I go into the TrueNas UI, I can see updates are available. However, it is unclear if it effects HexOS at all. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I would like to some assurance that if I updated TrueNas, then it will be compatible with HexOS that is running.

So my suggestion/recommendation is to setup something like https://distrosea.com/ where a user can load up an instance then try out the interface to see how easy it is to use with maybe a test server to try connecting to it or the like, the former being the important bit. For me personally my biggest sticking point is I want to try before I buy. The example would be one going to a car dealership and being told one cannot sit in the floor room show car to see if one likes the feel of the car they are thinking of buying but don't necessarily need. Thank you for your time.
