  1. I, personally, would avoid rack mount 1u/2u servers. I looked at them not too long ago. I could have gotten one free from work, but then I started to think on troubleshooting it when things went wrong, parts, mounting, noise, etc and I decided to pass on it. Yes free is free, but I have too many parts and cases I took home with me from work already. I built an ITX based system, running Unraid, in a silverstone sc381 case. Added some Noctua fans and it sits in one of the main rooms of my house, whisper quiet. If they want $200 and it contains working 2x10TB drives, then grab it for the memory and drives. Flip it for $50 to $100, potentially, on Marketplace. I'm about to start looking at building another server for HexOS. And I'm looking at the Jonsbo N5. I'm hesitant because of the drive tray, or lack there of.
  2. Correct,
  3. Changing the email should be a very simple thing. I also would like to update my email address. However, the ability to transfer a license to another user is an unreasonable request, in my opinion. If we want long term support for this Os, with a lifetime license purchase option, then we want other users to buy into the ecosystem. This generates money for the company, supporting them for continued development of the product. With so many software products moving to only a SaaS, subscriptions, model. I wouldn't want to limit the companies income source, as generally speaking subscriptions generate a better revenue long-term for a company. Allowing transferable licenses would just lose the company money and potentially cause them to think about the purchase model. .Creating a turnkey Os of this nature takes development time and long-term support. Just my thoughts.
  4. Buddy Backup is, will be, a HexOs feature that requies two machines with HexOs running. While you personally do not need two licenses, you at least need a "buddy" with his/her own license to take advantage of this specific feature. At least that is my understanding. I personally would like to see a modified version of the Buddy Backup feature that can be used with one license that allows for synchronization with another machine running HexOs for Buddy Backup only, that has all other functionality disabled, I would like to build a secondary system and enable buddy backup without the need of a friend. 😞
  5. I just picked up a License and I'm psyched to the beta up and running. With that said, I would like to spin up a temporary machine for now, until it gets out of Beta and some of the Apps I need become available. So my question is, can I use my license for this temporary machine, then when I'm ready move it over to a new machine configured for long term use?
