  1. What is the storage config? PowerEdge systems of that era mostly shipped with PERC RAID configs and may not easily present your disks individually to HexOS/TrueNAS. If you have a PERC RAID config than your option would be to create individual single-disk RAID0s so as to present each drive up to HexOS/TrueNAS. This may get in the way of OS monitoring of SMART, since a virtual disk will be presented.
  2. This. Beyond that there are others in my home that may have need to interact with NAS admin that have no need or interest in becoming experts in Linux/Truenas/Unraid. This is why I've run a Synology for so long despite having the technical chops to do it myself on any hardware I want. The pitch that sold me was commercial/consumer NAS friendly, with all the power of underlying Truenas when I want it.
  3. Getting this frequently as I browse around, and even trying to post this. An error occurred (500 Error) We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now. Too many connections You can try again by clicking the button below, or try again later.
  4. If it is you should consider putting logs directory on different storage, depending on your utilization, heavy log writes will kill SD cards quick.
