  1. I successfully booted with 2048 MB in a VM. 1024 MB wasn’t enough though, haven’t tried to find the absolute limit yet. If I get bored maybe.
  2. Yeah I definitely wouldn’t run plex on Cloudflare Tunnels. It would be worse than a traditional VPN, Tailscale, or even just opening up a port, as you are bandwidth limited over Tunnels. Mainly I use Tunnels as a reverse proxy for any web apps I’m hosting. One example is my Minecraft server management portal, plus a few development sites. You can also use Cloudflared as a VPN (kind of), using WARP as the client. There’s limitations with it, and in my testing it’s much slower than any direct VPN connections. For sharing amongst friends or family, Tailscale is the better solution, the free tier is insanely good for what you get.
  3. Can confirm it works with Plex, haven't setup Immich yet but I assume it'll work. If I get around to it this evening I'll let you know how it goes.
  4. +1 definitely passkey support
  5. +1 virtual machines are a must at some point.
  6. Can confirm that Tailscale works on HexOS when installed through the TrueNAS UI.
  7. I already got it working, it was surprisingly simple. See my post here for instructions if you're interested:
  8. My thinking is, if they're going to offer a local option at all, the command deck should not be required for provisioning. My thinking for why they're doing this is because DRM will most likely be included in release versions and they don't want people stealing their secret sauce. However, they're saying it's self-hosted, and you have "Full control". In that case all components should be self-hosted, or at least give the user the option at install. This is coming from someone who is incredibly excited, and is already very impressed with the beta. I just want to see this product develop positively and make an impact in everyone taking back control of their data.
  9. Seems like there could be a timeout as well? I made an edit to a comment but I just checked and I can't edit it anymore. I also noticed I cannot delete my own posts or comments.
  10. Cloudflare is awesome, and I definitely want to see native support for Tunnels. It is fairly simple for a technical person to setup but it would be nice to have a wrapper within HexOS for like a one-click setup. Basically you buy a domain in Cloudflare, link your account to HexOS and it will perform the necessary config to setup the tunnel, route application services to your domain, and apply ACLs based on what you already have in HexOS. Although, you do need a domain to use Cloudflare Zero Trust. Tailscale is another option, and does not require a domain to use. As of right now the docker app already runs great. I imagine they could add a simple wizard—the current setup process has a lot of options but only requires an auth key to be set for it to work.
  11. +1 for native Tailscale support Tailscale could also be implemented for the upcoming "buddy backup" feature as I've heard it referred to. Considering the important parts of Tailscale are open source it could even be implemented without either user needing to have a Tailnet and HexOS operates as the coordination server. Forking off of Headscale could be an option too, just thinking out loud.
