Total OpenZFS/TrueNAS newbie here. If I'm interpreting the FAQ correctly, if I start with three drives in a raidz1, I can add a fourth down the line if I want, correct?

Well, I was going to try to run HexOS on a QNAP NAS, but the Aoostar comes in even cheaper.

FWIW, there are a fair amount of tutorials out there for putting TrueNAS on QNAP systems. My tentative plan is to replace the stock QNAP software on a TS-464 with HexOS. There is some issues with fan controls sometimes not working, but I'll figure that out if it's an issue.
