This is exactly what I want. I tried to set it up by hand before on truenas, but failed. probably an error on my side.

My brother is comfortable with truenas and won't switch, you know, why pay if you don't have to. So my question is, will the buddy backup be compatible with truenas?

Is it possible now or in the future to install it over a current truenas install? or is it always from scratch?
