  1. I should provide an update for this... It Works. My hardware is as follows: (built shortly after this post) the linked motherboard-CPU combo (unit?) above (thermalright AXP90 cooler) 32 GB of DDR4 LSI 9240-8I HBA 3 (now 4) 4tB Seagate Ironwolf Pro HDDs (fourth was added a week or so ago with little fanfare) Jonsbo N4 (with an additional fan on a 3D printed stand for the HBA) silverstone 450w SFX PSU After building the system i did quite a bit of tinkering, i am running the following services: Immich, Jellyfin, Jellyseer, pihole, portainer, tailscale and a some VMs The above taken into account, i have spent a fair amount of time within the TrueNAS UI which is both less and more intimidating than its reputation indicates. Let me know if you have any questions (i will do my best to answer them).
  2. HI, I know that allot of people have gotten HexOS to work on N100 CPUs and the like which is promising, however i wanted to inquire if anyone has used a transplanted laptop CPU on a full size motherboard for this application? Something like this: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807333040024.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa#nav-review Thank you
  3. Portions of this question have been answered here: it’s a thread from yesterday that I didn’t see until I got more acquainted with the UI.
  4. Hi, Looking over the FAQ for the beta, it states that there is a minimum of two drives required to form a “static” (non expandable) pool and likewise a 3 drive minimum for expandable pools. Is this a limitation of trueNAS or is this a “safety” feature to ensure that people set up a minimum amount of redundancy and likewise is it possible to expand off of the two drive pools? (Maybe at a later date?) I only ask because it is much easier to stomach acquiring drives one at a time and upgrading as needed (hopefully I can start with 2 drives) and don’t want to lose all of my data if I have to reset the pool in order to add storage. Thank you.
