  1. Welcome! Enjoy the ride! -- Orion
  2. With HDD prices in the stratosphere at the moment I had a question for anyone with this type of NAS. Have you tried shucking HDD's? And if so, did you need to apply tape to the 3rd rail? -- Orion
  3. I like how plain it looks. Honestly. a NAS doesn't need to RGB. Nice job! -- Orion
  4. Thanks for the info. I'm noticing more and more I need to get a UPS. And this info is helpful. I h appreciated. -- Orion
  5. Just a point of data: I updated and had no issues. Everything is working as it did before the update. -- Orion
  6. So because im seriously considering the uGreen 4800+, what happened with this? Im sorry to resurrect a read post. --Orion
  7. I'm a slowly "test the waters guy" kinda guy so I'll be having a smaller NAS of 16tb. I have an external disk for 16tb will do a backup once a month. Easy, simple. I find that works best. I've heard backblaze has a backup for NAS, but it's not inexpensive.
  8. Love you NAS name, btw. No, this ain't a helpful comment. Just commending. -- Orion
  9. That's kewl. Thanks. I'll have to give it a look.
  10. Some UPS' have. USB connection to supply information. I guess my question is more, does HexOS read that info. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. 245tb ssd, would be amazing. I'll take 2? I have a kidney....
  12. Super excited for this. I'm done with Apple iCloud, and remote storage out of my control so I'm looking forward to making my own server, however. Does HexOS have a way to communicate with a UPC? For example. Say I lost power and HexOS communicates with the ups and the ups says "hey! We lost power, you got 20 minutes before your dead!" So the server shuts down after it finished whatever it's finished. But they starts back up when power returns it boots back up? Or is this. BIOS setting? (I don't think it's a bios setting) -- Orion
  13. Thanks for the explanation. Im still planing everything out so I can't really say id use it. But its a nice option.
