PX-HexOS

HexOS is the primary OS running on the hardware, correct? It's not an "app" running on another OS. Assuming so, does this mean all applications/software has to be designed to run on/with HexOS? How do you know what software is/isn't supported? Windows? Mac? Linux? Dedicated gaming servers (via Steam). Plex server. JellyFin server. Etc. Are there any example/lists (or could someone provide one) for what is/isn't possible currently? Eg. - You can run plex server and stream/encode - You can sync files from Android/iOS photo/video for longer backup - You can sync files to/from Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, and other cloud storage providers - You can host dedicated gaming servers for things like Valheim, Satisfactory, Factorio, etc. - You can access files from your Windows desktop easily, allowing "basic" users functionality similar to what they currently experience with Google/OneDrive Sorry if some of these are basic!

I'm seeing tons of posts about using existing/used/old hardware which is great! But what about for those of us interested in a brand new setup? Some friends and I have been searching around for inspiration on what hardware to consider for a complete HexOS setup. Some key considerations (that are hopefully obvious?) Somewhat quiet, most of us will be running these 24/7 and not locked in a closet Power efficiency (as much as possible). Again, running 24/7, power should be kept under control. I see people making NAS / streaming servers with 4090's and such which is just ridiculous. Lots of storage capacity. Ability to leverage at least 8 drive bays, 12 ideal No custom 3d printing (only one of us has a 3d printer and what it can produce wouldn't be good enough for this use case) Most of the YouTube videos posted (or found) seem to be from creators making highly custom builds with 3d printed parts, custom wood finishes, and other "fancy" click-worthy features. Great for them! Not so much for people who just want something that works well!
