  1. After doing a little research, I might try the following and see if it will work: setup a Z1 pool of ssd's and a Z1 pool of hdd's, then use MergerFS to manage the hot/cold storage
  2. I know it would probably be a big project and there is still a lot of work to do on the current build. But if you could add some kind of hot/cold storage automation wizard that would be awesome.
  3. Oops, maybe this should be in the support/applications section?
  4. I really need to get Filezilla working on the HexOS to do some more testing, but can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Has anyone loaded this onto HexOS or Truenas and have some pointers to what I may have missed? https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/filezilla
  5. Agree this is needed in future revisions. As well as some custom zpool configurations on the first time setup. In the mean time, there may be a work around if you install and complete the first time setup on some spare drives, then power off the server, install the drives with a zpool on it and power up the server. Some people have found it will detect the existing pool's.
  6. If the hardware can run proxmox you shouldn't have a problem. More info in this thread if needed: https://hub.hexos.com/topic/765-hardware-storage-requirementscompatibility-faq/
  7. Just a suggestion for a Filezilla app/docker image. 🙂 I find I can transfer a large amount of data quicker over SFTP than I can over SMB. Unless there is a SFTP app already in the list that I missed?
  8. So I managed to get the SD card to detect, but I can only make 4Gb partitions on it via the bios/iDrac, so not very useful in my case. Maybe it would work if I had the dual SD card slot and not just the iDrac SD card slot.
  9. Just be careful. I found in my testing that if you disconnect the HexOS license and try to add it again, it goes through the initial setup process and wipes the zpool.
  10. Yeah, I think it's an issue with my server, can't detect the vFlash SD card
  11. Could not get my Dell PowerEdge R530 to detect the 32Gb microSD card (with adaptor) I have to test this out. Most likely a fault with my server and not the HexOS as I'm not able to detect the SD card in the Bios under vFlash either. Will keep you updated if I find a fix for this.
  12. I think they are working on a host of Docker images and/or apps to be supported out of the box and this is a good idea. In the mean time you could use docker in the TrueNAS dashboard and try out lancache.net I have not used this personally, but it looks like it supports steam, battlenet and epic.
  13. It is likely this will be a feature as Plex and other VM's need this kind of hardware passthrough for video encoding. It will just take time to develop.
  14. I think I spotted a minecraft server app in a picture of the pre-release. Other games may need to switch to the tru-nas dashboard to configure?
  15. Portainer is good, but I'd likely use dockge. As it seems more lightweight and easy to use compared to Portainer.
