If you wanted to check I believe data can come in any of about 5 channels. And as you see here one channel does not rule them all. I know it's fun to be that cool kid who is on all the socials but this product needs to mature.

Bear in mind you are asking about a software app that is not production ready so if you are asking for now and if you are asking for when it goes live and gets through the shakedown period are two very different questions. A timeframe for when you need it could be helpful, the type of NAS you want (just storage vs developer kit) and any other generic info you can give without divulging corporate secrets might help. And really that only probably pertains to the apps and access options you would use like would you use Nextcloud to access the NAS and any of its addons for collaboration or development tasks. Integration with other systems is probably a large consideration. Though there has been discussions over lifetime and monthly costs, I wonder if the team has thoughts about enterprise opportunities. If you have time this could be a very interesting due diligence exercise for both yourself and Eshtek to go through but maybe not this soon.

yes please. sorry for the late reply, I expected to get an email for a reply. I would very much like getting help with this, I found an article that seems to solve the issue I'm working with, but I'm in way over my head and too scared to start. https://michaelrichter.online/immich-disaster-recover-guide-for-truenas-scale/

I want something to run PLEX, qBittorrent, Onedrive (ideally multiple accounts), a small Minecraft server, a storage NAS for video from a computer running OBS, and MAYBE a storage NAS for editing said video. Questions: 1. Is that PSU sufficient? 2. Should I buy the M.2 SSDs right away or is there a chance the hard drives will perform well enough for a small MC server? 3. Are the M.2 ssds good for a minecraft server that would demand more performance than the hard drives? 4. Is the SAS card appropriate? 5. Should I include the GPU (I only expect to serve 1 plex client, maybe 2)? I own the following already: 7600K 24GB DDR4 ASUS H270M GTX 660 610W PSU (Its pretty old so the ratio between voltages may be different than a 600W PSU from today (+3.3V 24A, +5V 30A, +12V 49A, -12V .8A, +5Vs 3A)) I'd like to use it as I have an emotional attachment to this PSU (weird I know). I am thinking of buying these things right away: 1x Supermicro LSI 9300-8i 12Gbps SAS https://www.ebay.ca/itm/404487397911 3x 8TB SAS Generic 3.5in - Mixed Brand Hard Drives (main pool) https://www.ebay.ca/itm/385722947515 1x Patriot Burst Elite SATA 3 120GB SSD (Boot) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08LKMQ9T4 And upgrading to these things if the above is insufficient: 2x Patriot P300 M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 128GB Low-Power Consumption SSD (minecraft) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0822Y6N1C TP-Link 2.5GB PCIe Network Card (TX201) https://a.co/d/g9r3zDF And if I want a 10 gig card, I can run the GPU off a 1x slot.

I work in a team to manage IT for a automation company and we need a NAS for the design files . Should we use HexOS for this application or would it be unrelaible for this use case. We have about 8TB of existing data and need to upgrade it to around 30TB for future proofing. If anyone can please suggest any solutions do reply and guide me to the best possible solution.

Every time I update Hexos to latest version the website stops working. I can still login via TrueNAS but hexos is broken.
-
I have 4 apps, all require update today. All of them provide a similar message to this when clicking the "Update now" button. I'm sure the first number is the actual version of the App itself, while I think the second number is the version of the HexOS YAML for the app. Would be much nicer to display this detail in a manner which is easier to understand.

App curation request: Actual Budget
severynm replied to DieselGearHead's topic in Roadmap & Feature Requests
I support this as well! I tried to install via TrueNAS, ran into an issue and gave up after 30 mins or so or googling. I'll try again shortly, but a curated version would still be awesome! -
Help with Jellyfin Reverse Proxy on HEXOS + SCALE + Tailscale
melle replied to YONI's topic in Applications
I was trying to figure this out too. Tailscale can do this. But it seems you have to setup a jellyfin.local. or jellyfin.internal dns network on your local lan. Then tailscale can proxy .internal adrresss to your local lan. Stil not 100% on this. P.s what do you mean with HEXos proxy manger -
a quick way to share acces is via tailscale and tdsproxy. tailsale has a video on youtube about setting up tdsproxy. then you can use the tailscale app to share a link to jellyfin. might make a full guide on this setup one day. I got as far as being able to generarate a share link in the android of taikscale. Havent actually tested using jellyfin

Mobius started following HexOS Lifetime
-
Hello, At this time HexOS is still in beta so by purchasing a lifetime license you will get access to our beta software and all updates are included with the lifetime license at no additional cost. In the future there may be some features that are not included with the lifetime license but that is limited to features with an ongoing cost. For example if we decided to offer a cloud storage solution.

Hi, What does it mean when you state: "By purchasing a lifetime license now, you will gain instant access to the beta program" - Is Hex OS available, accessible, usable for the lifetime license? - For the official versions, major releases are they free or paid to upgrade/update.? Thanks

HexOS compatibilty with qnap, synology, and terramaster hardware?
CaptainMoose replied to bojun's topic in Hardware
Were you able to get HexOS to recognize each drive in the terramaster enclosure? I am using a ProBox 4 bay but HexOS does not support multiple drives on the same USB interface. -

to the best of my knowledge immich does not encrypt photos. Have you encrypted them another way? If you would like i can try to set up a support meeting with you where we install a fresh installation of immich and help you reprocess all the media you had in your previous immich installation

Hello. I looked up isaacerrols@gmail.com and you have an account but no license on it. There is no account under dewitt71@hotmail.com. I couldn't find any else doing a search for your first and last name. Sorry.
-
Hello, I believe I previously purchased a HexOS license, but I’m unable to locate my receipt or confirmation email. Could you please help me verify whether I have an existing license on record? I can provide any information needed to look it up, such as my name (Errol Isaac), email address: (isaacerrols@gmail.com or dewitt71@hotmail.com). Thank you for your assistance.

Hi! first off, I have a backup. second. I didn't know about the whole migration thing when I decided to update immich today. idk how I missed everything, but I followed some guides but none of them worked (bc the step to "turn off old file systems" didn't exist for me, and for some reason, I couldn't change the file storage location) so I tried something stupid. I made a backup (a full one, including all the encrypted images) and then deleted immich and re-installed it. after learning that this didn't work, I realized I could not downgrade. I went to the immich discord server and they gave me a guide on how to restore from a backup, but annoyingly, this guide only exists for docker. anyone know how to guide me through this? and please enplane every step, pretend I'm 5. if this is impossible for some reason and you know a different way I can save my data from the infinite obscurity of encryption, I would really appreciate knowing how to fix it.

Can you please explain how you changed the name of your server? I cannot seem to figure this out.

With HDD prices in the stratosphere at the moment I had a question for anyone with this type of NAS. Have you tried shucking HDD's? And if so, did you need to apply tape to the 3rd rail? -- Orion

Good news indeed if they are working on fully supporting the drivers! It’s been quite some time since I’ve been wanting to buy an Intel Arc GPU for Plex HW transcoding!
-
Hello everyone. I am gald others have had better luck with their intel gpu's, but I have an Intel Arc Pro A40 and I have had trouble with Plex HW transcoding (this seems to be specific to the version of plex I am using; HexOS, TreuNAS, and an Ubuntu VM recognize and can access the GPU). With that said, it looks like the plex team is actively working to get the full Intel Alchemist gpu driver stack fully suported in an upcoming PMS release. Here is the Plex support thread for reference: https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-transcoder-cannot-initialize-vaapi-on-intel-arc-pro-a40-dg2/933983

Transform current Win10 server/nas into HexOS NAS
Nickifynbo replied to The_Hawkeye's topic in Hardware
What did you end up doing The_Hawkeye? Or are you still waiting for the full 1.0 release of HexOS? -
If you can tell me what parts have you lost i can point you in to the right direction

Oh that makes more sense. lol I think the only way to solve this is too not bother encrypting things... lets just keep everything OPEN.
