Update: So I had to shut down my Server to look at the ram I have 1333mhz sticks. If I upgrade I'd get 4x 8GB 1600mhz sticks, I imagine that'll be a pretty boost in performance to some degree. But I noticed that my Memory usage went WAY down? Should I restart my server regularly then? like once a month?

Just bought the double license and I have a question about....
OrionArkk replied to OrionArkk's question in OS & Features
Some UPS' have. USB connection to supply information. I guess my question is more, does HexOS read that info. Sorry for the confusion. -

How would the UPS in this case communicate with the server? Do you have a specific UPS in mind, or a general question? In essence, HexOS runs Linux and TrueNAS. If the UPS has a way to send this information to the server in some way, an application could probably be built for this. From a quick look around HexOS apps I couldn't find anything, but I would guess this would be solvable on the TrueNAS side, of course, depending on the UPS. -
This latest update doesn't seem to agree with my NAS. My installed apps no longer appear on the main dash screen or under installed apps. They are definitely still there as my Plex server still works, I have internet access so the pihole is still running etc. I should have: Immich, Plex, Jellyfin, Node Red, Tailscale, pihole and Syncthing all installed but hexos doesn't seem any of them now. Was all ok before the update.

Should I look at upgrading my ram? There's currently 20GBs 2x 2GB ddr3 and 2x 8GB ddr3. Timings and everything are the same the capacity is the only thing that is different, I never had issues when gaming, this is my old gaming computer so it's an i2600k. But I'm looking at this and thinking I should maybe get another 2x 8GB ddr3 kit (if I can find one). I currently have Immich, Jellyfin, Steam Headless, and mealie running, I am looking at getting syncthing or nextcloud and a few other apps running once they become curated.

I got this error when updating to TrueNAS 25.10.1. Anyone else had this pop up? Haven’t noticed any issues so far but just want to make sure. Google wasn’t helpful 😕

Thank you very much for the pointers you did provide. Maybe I'll give it another whack this weekend

IIRC correctly I followed option 2 (build from source) on the install documentation from directly within the truenas shell: https://github.com/simulot/immich-go/blob/main/docs/installation.md but honestly it has been a few months. The oldest command my shell remembers is "$ mv immich-go /mnt/SSDs/Applications" which suggests something like following the option 1 steps. Sorry my friend, I'm a bit of a silly goose.

Interesting thing just happened: I updated Prowlarr to test the restore functionality for Sonarr and it wasn't reset after the script got updated. Started up and had all the Indexers and connections still set up. Could someone from the HexOS Team maybe elaborate on what those updates in their scripts actually do?

I am having trouble wrapping my head around how to install immich go so I can run it in trie nas shell.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but immich-go can be run by using the shell in truenas. At the risk of outing myself, an LLM of your choosing may or may not be helpful in suggesting some command syntax. (if you do that... please double check that your command makes sense using the immich-go documentation first, and you have an option of running the command in a 'test' mode where nothing is actually done just to verify your settings.) I'd also recommend using tmux to allow the script to run in the background if you have a transfer that is large, and for a very large transfer, I found it necessary to split it up into smaller chunks.

Hi all I've upgraded to HexOS v0.8.251106 and my dashboard shows no installed apps and I can only install the apps from scratch. If I go to the Truenas dashboard [25.10.1 - Goldeye] , all of my currently installed apps [immich, home assistant, audiobookshelf, tailscale, etc] are there, including the data and settings. I can still back up my iPhone images to Immich and Tailscale shows the system as active on the network and I'm able to connect to the Truenas dashboard using the Tailscale assigned UP address, with my RAID array of Samsung 2tb 870 QVO drives. I'm not entirely sure what's going on and I've tried to restart the system 3 times now and I'd like not to lose any data. I can post screenshots if required, just ask, and run any commands if anyone wants me to report back certain information on the system. Specs, if required: AMD 5700G, B550i strix, 32gigs DDR4-3200 CL17 Corsair RAM, RM750i PSU. Thanks in advance

I figured it'd keep the DB etc, but it was like a fresh install unfortunately. I specifically chose Radarr to try it, as I only added a couple of movies and did not set up much. If I had to do the above for Jellyfin and Sonarr it'd be a real hassle. Though I should note that I did not make a backup from Radarr beforehand (via GUI) so I didn't try the restore after - if you did that you probably could restore the library at least after you restored the mounts.

darth3pio started following 25.10.1 Goldeye GPU acceleration, NVidia
-
After the Goldeye update I seem unable to get my RTX 5060 Ti 16GB to show up in app settings for acceleration as I was hoping this update would enable. In the previous version a quick lspci | grep -i NVIDIA command would show it as installed and that remains unchanged, what has changed is it now shows as something in the list of GPUs that can be isolated and in apps => configuration => settings I can now enable Install NVidia Drivers but it doesn't show up in the container settings and using midclt call app.gpu_choices | jq only shows the iGPU. Seeking advice or support.

Oh wow! I could understand the mounts (if different than the default locations). The rest like API keys are a bit confusing unless you weren't able to reconnect to your previous database. It would be nice if the interface perhaps showed a comparison between what the existing configuration is and what the updated one looks like so that changes could be minimised before updating. That way, if I have to move a mount manually before the upgrade I would do that so that once the update is done everything works exactly as before I switch to the curated version.

Tdarr & Tdarr node - the setup on youtube in truenas scale looks scary
-
If it’s currently working on the latest build we don’t need to do anything right ?
-
I did this as a test with Radarr and it completely reset everything. Had to redo mounts, set the new API Key everywhere etc. Bit annoying and unfortunate, won't be doing it with Sonarr etc as I did a ton of stuff in there unless it's absolutely necessary. The UI wants me to update the configs for Sonarr, Jellyfin, Radarr (done this one as it's the least used of my curated apps) and Prowlarr.
