@mill3000 can you take a look into this
-
Add another to the pile. I have not had to log into the deck for quite a while, but found it unable to connect today. Shares, Plex, and TrueNAS ui are working fine, TrueNAS is version 24.10.0.
-
As an FYI, if you update via the TrueNAS UI, please stick to the 24.10.x track at this time. We are not ready for 25.04 yet, although I would imagine for most everything would work just fine.
-
Yes. It's a Q3 roadmap item for us.

Is the new template being worked on for software developers to use to create easier installs for their software of for us to use to build our own installs?

Been away for a while , have i mist any updates and how do i install them ?
Sonic replied to Syko's question in OS & Features
There is no HexOs update available yet. There was only an update of deck.hexos.com. I think the Plex update won’t hurt, but don’t install the TrueNas update. It’s not recommended and it will break HexOs. -

Ok, so it seems the direction is to wait to update TrueNAS until given the green light. What about the Plex and Immich products? Since for me HexOS is mostly the data holder, I wonder if those updates are ok. Well, I don't wonder enough to try the updates I guess. My concern is my phones and TV's have the updates already. Plex has updated a couple times since the app on HexOS has. I am thinking the devs might not have a problem with a few folks trying the new versions but I can imagine the mess we would have if 50,000 folks tried it and it broke. Do we have an official position besides holding off for TrueNAS updates until given the go ahead?

Will there be regional prices because right now the global economy is really bad, and there are cities for which $200 is like a monthly salary, like Argentina, Brazil, etc.

You can do it now through the TrueNAS console itself (not HexOS Deck). I just configured one this morning for Dropbox. Once you login to the TrueNAS console itself, to to Data Protection and create a task for Cloud Sync Task. They have premade layouts for Backblaze
-
just to double check you aren't using the password for the hexos website but rather the one from the installer right?
-
Hello. Using those credentials I still can't log in, says user/pass wrong.

at this time plex and immich are still the only 2 apps with one click installs. The team is working on making it so the community and create one click installs for apps so once that comes out i imagine the amount of one click apps will skyrocket. as for apps that can be manually installed i would just google for list of docker apps. (there are a lot)

Save Configuration of my existing HEX OS to load into my new NAS.
Mobius replied to Johann Priebe's question in OS & Features
fingers crossed it works out for you. -
I imagine a lot of members here would appreciate the guide.
-
I can ask the team whenever the next time I have a meeting with them if i remember but i don't meet with them often and it might not have been discussed yet.
-
Has there been any discussion on what the per month cost would be?

I have done this using Nextcloud AIO. It took quite a bit of troubleshooting to get working in a way that uses Cloudflare Tunnel so I can access it remotely without exposing my IP address, and I'm looking at better solutions than Cloudflare Tunnel still, but so far it is working nicely and I have been able to use it to share files with students using just a link and not giving them login accounts. About to head to bed, but if you're interested, I can work on a step by step guide of what I did to get it working~

The best I would expect is maybe a Black Friday/Cyber Monday launch sale that drops the price to 150 lifetime, and then Tuesday December 2nd the price is at 300 dollars and we have 1.0 out of beta.

For me? I will probably be using it for my family's NAS when it is in a better state, I'm fine and happy learning and struggling through the TrueNAS stuff, but I know my family would get very frustrated. So I'm keeping an eye on this to see when it is in a state that will be more useful to them so they won't need to contact me to fix something XD

Oh no, the 'Bad Idea NAS' is back!!! So I briefly covered my recent upgrade to all NVME storage on my 'production' NAS and pondered how to recover the data from the old SATA drives, of course I backed it up but what if I hadn't? So yeah, I cobbled together this abomination, which has more 'bad practice' and 'unsupported' features than I'm willing to mention for fear of triggering some kind of keyboard-smashing rage in anyone reading this... This does actually work and I was able to read back all the data from the drives. I did use the HexOS installer but then imported the pools and configured the shares in the TrueNAS interface. I appreciate that this forum is more focused on the HexOS side but I only learnt how to do all this thanks to HexOS. So anyway, still enjoying messing around with this, thanks all...
