  2. I only disagree with that statement because the web UI is all that loses connection. All other connections stay active. Has the team given you different specific direction? And to be more specific, I can access the HexOS URL. I just get an unavailable error through that URL.

  4. I don't think this issue has to do with deck up time since https://status.hexos.com/ shows 100% up time for deck and api. I have reached out to the hexos team again to follow up with them on this issue.

  7. As far as I am aware, that's pretty much what it is. The HexOS UI does not run on your server, it runs on theirs (Eshtek). HexOS is apparently bad at keeping this connection alive/reconnecting when it goes down. So the TrueNAS interface will work fine, since you access it locally, as will every other service you're running on your server. You just lose access to the one thing you paid for, the HexOS interface. 😛
  8. Something I think would be really helpful is stats on how many users are using a given app and maybe sort the list of apps by most popular. Users could look at most popular apps and try out things they otherwise wouldn't know about. Developers could look at the most popular apps and use that to decide which apps to make a one-click install for next.
  9. Right now I am getting the same thing but it is weird and may not be the same as others. I only reboot or shutdown the server when I have to. And that is once or twice a week (mostly just once) because of the server unavailable error. The thing I think is weird is only the wb UI is having a connection issue. My HD Homerun capture card stays connected and all my TV's still can either watch live TV but also movies and pre-recorded shows from the HexOS server. My windows drive assignments also maintain their connection to the server. I haven't tried the TrueNAS connection because honestly, I don't think of it fast enough. Is it possible something is happening at the developers end that only the web UI seems affected for me? It is an extremely annoying issue since it requires me to reboot the HexOS server. When I do I can connect again without noticeable issue.
  10. I've been getting the occasional "server unavailable" for a long time. Probably a lot more often than I realize, since I use the HexOS interface so rarely. Whatever functionality is there to detect a lost connection and reconnect, seems to be rather lacking. With no ability to restart just the HexOS layer, the only solution I've found is to restart the whole server. That has always fixed it so far.

  12. Same problem over here. Updated to ElectricEel-24.10.2.2 quite a while ago, everything worked just fine. Today tried opening the command deck - server is not available. Although I can still access server through the True NAS. Double-checked that the local IP address has not changed.

  14. Thanks for the thoughtful response. I don't regret buying early into HexOS - this whole time, it's been humming along, trouble-free, in the background. Can't wait to see more - even if there are a few warts or setbacks here and there!

  17. Hexos definitely doesn't make it more simple. One day i have access on "apps" & "user", next password incorrect for "user", i fix that and then i loose access to "apps", now lost access to both. Spent the last few days trying to figure it out, but with zero luck. HEX OS simple users and SMB sharing is 100% BROKEN, outdated completely now apps are outdated in Truenas dashboard. So much for simplicity. I DON'T WANT DO DEAL WITH ACL's, and it seams they are broken too.

That's different from this account. Hit "forgot your password" on the login screen and use your protonmail account to have your login credentials sent to you for that.   20. Thanks for your feedback and I wholeheartedly agree. I have gotten some very helpful messages from another community member here who actually acts as a Community Manager for some other pretty popular products. We are planning to expand the team in the future specifically in this area. I'm confident that by the end of Q3, you'll be much happier with the frequency of communication and updates!
  21. hexos is not linked to paypal like that Your hexos email address can be different from your paypal account email if you set it up that way please check your various email accounts for hexos or an email with a subject "HexOS Early Access Program Details" to double check which email address you signed up to hexos with. alternatively you can reach out to support@hexos.com and they can see what email address your hexos os licenses are tied to. Please do keep in mind that this process may take some time.

  24. I can get into the dashboard. The dashboard was made with this email address, but I couldn't get into the forum without setting up something new.
  25. I use the same email address on PayPal to pay for the damn thing I've sent 30 emails to the email address listed on the paypal invoice not one reply. I am more than livid.
  26. Hey HexOS folks. I know a lot of us are feeling both frustrated about the pace of updates and hopeful about what's coming in the future for this platform. I have always been intimidated by platforms like UnRAID and TrueNAS - so this has been an opportunity for me to dip my toes into self-hosting. That said, the pace of communication from the team on the forum, Reddit, and elsewhere has been so very frustrating. The mods here are great and do what they can but we're not just here to get a product, I'm sure I speak for more than just myself in saying I'd love to see behind the curtain a little bit as an early adopter. Please, please, please consider this a priority, because idk about the rest of you but I can feel a fair bit of frustration starting to build here.

  28. very cool getting it to work on an arm mac I would however recommend not keeping anything mission critical on it if you don't have another backup on another device or on the cloud.

    At the top of this webpage, you can go to the store tab and then manage purchases to see your licenses. the licenses are tied to your account. Its unlikely but you can try and email support@hexos.com and ask if they can separate your licenses into 2 different accounts. but i do want to stress that there is a good chance they cannot.
