idk if anyone has tried to install NextCloud via HexOS but I get this error, I tried seeing if I could figure out where logs might be in TrueNAS to at least get some information but i have no clue. And according to the reqs I should be fine. I will be adding more RAM Friday. idk what might be helpful to figure this out. CPU: i7-2600k (4core, 8thread) Ram: 20gb 1333 DDR3 (will be 32 1600 DDR3 soon)

If the OS doesn't detect the drives, how did you format and partition the drives?

looks like a smart error with one of your HDDs. Try install our newly curated scrutiny app and it might should you some more granular info about your sda drive.

Same going to wait for a fix or reply on here if not truenas does have a rollback feature that let's you boot with the last version of truenas interface have used it before should work if it comes to it but does involve getting to the trunas interface via the IP of your server.

Sound like you might want PeaNUT if HexOS doesn't support control natively, NUT is short for Network UPS Tools, though I've not used it myself yet.

ok Thanks for the info. I think it over, but I might lean towards more RAM while it's available $2.20/GB isn't bad for an older system where ram really isn't being produced for it anymore.

Hey, No, don't restart regularly, high memory usage is good, because unused memory = wasted memory! Hexos is using the memory for the ARC cache, this is a read only cache where Hexos is preloading files which it believes you are using next and can then deliver those files from the memory instead of having to read them from the drives. Depending on your current usage you will not notice any performance boost with more memory, but you might future proof it. Memory prices are currently going through the roof, only buy memory if it's not overpriced.

I went to check on Immich since it was another one that needed to update and First off I can't launch it there's nothing located at that IP:Port I get unable to connect. But also if I click on options I get this. THe wording and selections are weird, might want this checked out too. I'm not resetting anything... UPDATE By clicking reset it did say it was going to reset to HexOS defaults (should've already have been those?) And now I can access Immich

My server has not come back up after the update is up on the local truenas interface but not hex os interface app are also up and running like pi hole etc

I'd also hugely appreciate this feature with the ability for a UPS to trigger a system shutdown.

We are investigating these issues. Thank you for reporting. I can confirm that when a curation gets updated, it can enable things like GPU transcoding. Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused and we will work to right this in a future update.

Update: So I had to shut down my Server to look at the ram I have 1333mhz sticks. If I upgrade I'd get 4x 8GB 1600mhz sticks, I imagine that'll be a pretty boost in performance to some degree. But I noticed that my Memory usage went WAY down? Should I restart my server regularly then? like once a month?

I have some apps that I set up to fit my server needs. We should have an option to ignore the “updated configuration” notice. Thank you for your hard work

Some UPS' have. USB connection to supply information. I guess my question is more, does HexOS read that info. Sorry for the confusion.

I guess when Jerod said it was a major upgrade he wasn't kidding. If you don't set them up again now you will just have to later. Yes there may be more resets in the meantime but it's still a bitter pill to swallow.

How would the UPS in this case communicate with the server? Do you have a specific UPS in mind, or a general question? In essence, HexOS runs Linux and TrueNAS. If the UPS has a way to send this information to the server in some way, an application could probably be built for this. From a quick look around HexOS apps I couldn't find anything, but I would guess this would be solvable on the TrueNAS side, of course, depending on the UPS.

This latest update doesn't seem to agree with my NAS. My installed apps no longer appear on the main dash screen or under installed apps. They are definitely still there as my Plex server still works, I have internet access so the pihole is still running etc. I should have: Immich, Plex, Jellyfin, Node Red, Tailscale, pihole and Syncthing all installed but hexos doesn't seem any of them now. Was all ok before the update.

Just a word of caution, I did the "update setup" thing with JellyFin and it reset the application so I have to reset it all up. So if you do that you'll have to reset your libraries and users up.
